Cammach are currently recruiting for a Senior Project Engineer. Based in Aberdeen, the role is on a permanent (staff) basis.
ROLE
The position will be responsible for leading technical delivery and project coordination for marine and subsea construction activities primarily focused on mooring systems and SURF for permanent offshore floating structures. This will include cost-effective planning, tender development, leading engineering work packages, procedural development and offshore execution.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for leading the technical responses as part of project tenders associated with marine and subsea construction activities for permanent floating structures
Management of individual projects dependent on type and scale under supervision of Head of Projects
Responsible for the delivery of engineering deliverables in support of the specific projects either independently or in conjunction with internal and external resources
Responsible for the development of operational procedures for utilisation offshore, including step by step methodology, rigging arrangements, equipment requirements, and lifting plans for marine and subsea construction activities associated with moorings and SURF for permanent offshore floating structures
Responsible for the development of mobilisation and demobilisation plans for installation and anchor handling vessels, and supervising quayside activities
Create, maintain and report on project schedules as required
Attend meetings with clients and sub-contractors
Actively participate in HIRAs and QHSE related activities
Produce scopes of work for sub-contractors
Attend and oversee offshore operations during execution phase to ensure adherence to procedures and guidelines
Travel offshore and internationally depending on project requirement
REQUIREMENTS
Degree in Engineering Discipline
Minimum 5 years’ experience working in Marine or subsea construction (Moorings / SURF) for the Energy Industry – Oil and Gas or Renewables
Experience in the design / installation of permanent mooring systems for units such as FPSOs, FSOs, FSUs, FWTs, or CALM buoys etc.
Experience in development of offshore operational procedures for installation and subsea construction projects
Offshore experience in the execution of projects
Knowledge in the use of Orcaflex is advantageous
Driven and focused with a willingness to further the development of themselves and the assigned team
Excellent communicator, in both written and verbal forms with highly effective inter-personal skills supported by good attention to detail
Creative and adaptable in the ability to manage new challenges
Works closely with others to maximise team achievements and effectiveness through developing relationships and continuous sharing of knowledge and ideas
Possession of up-to-date offshore certification will be advantageous
The ability to travel offshore and internationally as required depending on the requirements of the team and projects
