The Hounslow Speech and Language Therapy Team are seeking a dynamic and experienced therapist to join as a Preschool Team Lead.
Hounslow Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Service is a large well integrated team. We are committed to supporting staff in developing their skills and expertise.

This role provides an opportunity to combine clinical leadership and service development alongside working with a small clinical caseload.
We are looking for an SLT who has some experience of managing and supporting staff and a keen interest in service development. A key part of the role will be to shape and deliver responsive, high-quality support to babies, children and young people with a range of speech language and communication needs (SLCN).
The SLT will work closely with the current SLT Team Leads and the service manager, and alongside the Occupational and Physiotherapy Team Leads.
Main duties of the job
To work alongside the Speech and Language Therapists (SLT) in Hounslow. This service is based within the Children’s Therapy Service allowing close working relationships with the paediatric Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Degree / diploma or other professional Speech and Language Therapy qualification
2. Registered with HCPC
3. MSc or equivalent post graduate study and training in specialist area
Experience
Essential criteria
4. Significant experience as a Speech and Language Therapist working within specialist field (e.g. education settings)
5. Experience of carrying out specialist assessments and intervention relevant to the client group
6. Working with multi-agency/ disciplinary teams
7. Extensive experience of supervising less experienced SLT’s
8. Experience of training others including parents/ caregivers in specialist area
Knowledge
Essential criteria
9. Ability to write clear and concise reports
10. Competent computer skills
11. Extensive knowledge of assessing and using low-tech and high-tech AAC
12. Established knowledge of the national policies and procedures relevant to the client group
