Financial Planning and Analysis Manager
e.surv Chartered Surveyors is currently recruiting for an FP&A Manager to drive best-in-class performance reporting, forecasting, and market analysis. This is a home working role, where regular travel to the Head Office in Kettering will be required on an ad hoc basis.
Accountabilities Include
1. Reporting
o Design daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly revenue performance reporting and KPIs with insights, leading discussions on implications, next steps, and remediation.
o Ensure visibility of the operating cost base, its drivers, and opportunities to variabilise, reduce, or exploit resources, with a focus on surveying resources.
o Collaborate with finance analysts to design, create, and comment on relevant reporting and KPIs.
o Work with the Head of Finance Change, Technology, and MI to develop MI/BI solutions, including dynamic, self-serve reporting and dashboards.
2. Strategic Optimisation
o Maintain external market perspective by modelling market, customer, and competitor trends and their impact on projections.
o Deliver scenario planning for potential business strategies and market assumptions to support strategic planning.
o Provide profit modelling for various business strategies, including organic growth, acquisitions, market entry, and exit.
3. Planning Cycle
o Deliver a robust, defensible profit plan aligned with business strategy, including a clearly articulated narrative.
o Create and own the five-year business plan, one-year budget, and ongoing forecasts, consolidating opportunities based on performance, market conditions, and initiatives.
o Present plans, budgets, and forecasts visually, with clear transitions, narratives, and commentary.
4. Team & Group Liaison
o Manage and develop one FP&A analyst, ensuring they are motivated and effective.
o Drive continuous improvement by automating processes and enhancing technology solutions, working with the Head of Finance Change.
o Build collaborative relationships across group and divisional FP&A teams to optimize planning and forecasting processes.
5. Essential Requirements
o Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with FP&A or Commercial Finance experience.
o Strong commercial acumen with a strategic mindset and the ability to influence business performance.
o Significant experience in creating and presenting robust plans, budgets, and forecasts.
o Ability to present business performance and strategies in an engaging, visually compelling manner with a strong narrative.
o Experience in financial modelling and scenario planning.
