Overview
Excalibur Academies Trust is seeking a proactive and skilled IT System Administrator to lead IT service delivery across multiple academies. This is a pivotal role, ensuring that technology supports operational excellence and educational outcomes. You will act as the bridge between local academy IT teams and the central Trust IT function, driving projects, resolving complex issues, and ensuring systems run smoothly and securely.
Responsibilities
* Leadership & Management: Lead IT service delivery at nominated academies, managing local IT staff and ensuring alignment with Trust objectives.
* Service Desk & Support: Oversee service desk operations, monitor performance data, and ensure timely resolution of IT issues.
* Systems & Projects: Manage IT systems, budgets, licences, and infrastructure improvements. Deliver projects including system updates, security patches, and enhancements.
* Collaboration: Work closely with curriculum leaders and educators to integrate technology into teaching and learning. Support the effective use of Microsoft 365 tools (SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams for Education).
* Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal staff and external contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
* A degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent experience.
* Strong experience in IT support or management, ideally within education.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Server, desktop operating systems, and network fundamentals.
* Proven ability to manage IT projects, budgets, and service teams.
* Innovative problem-solving skills and the ability to stay ahead of technological changes.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
* Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and continuous professional development.
* Relevant certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco) and willingness to travel are desirable.
