We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic midwife to lead our community teams that will be based at the Royal London hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust.
You must be passionate about continuity of carer and personalised care, provide excellent midwifery care for women and have strong leadership skills to support the staff working within the community teams.

We provide Maternity Services to approximately 5000 women a year and accommodate our women in very modern up to date facilitates. We have a level 3 Neonatal unit situated within the hospital as well as excellent facilities in Fetal Medicine

Interim Community Team Lead – This role is offered as part of a Job share consisting of working 0900-1700 hours, 2 days per week as the Community team lead. You will need to be able to support the day to day running and management of the community team. This role will include clinical shifts. You will need to have strong leadership skills and ensure excellent collaboration with the rest of the Band 7 team across the Community and Inpatient services including the Barkantine Practice .
You will need to have:
1. A minimum of 2 years post registration experience, with at least 1 year of recent intrapartum experience
2. Be educated to degree level or currently undertaking a degree
3. Have undertaken the mentorship course or equivalent
4. Have a passion for personalised care and continuity of carer
5. Have sound clinical knowledge with the organisational and leadership skills necessary to manage change.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. An interest in active birth
8. Skills in dealing with obstetric emergencies
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for coordinating and developing services that are personalised to the needs of pregnant women and their babies. The post holder will provide effective leadership within the group practice model of care working in partnership with the community teams and all clinical areas. They will work collaboratively with other multi-disciplinary team members; contribute to the education and professional development of staff in the acute and primary care setting. He/she will be actively involved in providing clinical care and education to women and their families and provide ongoing support to midwives and GP’s caring for pregnant women. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring there is on-going auditing, monitoring and evaluation of the service provided.
