As part of ongoing transformation of the gardens at Hand Picked Hotels, we are currently recruiting for a Head of Garden Design, this role will be responsible for heading up the garden design and team for the 9 hotels within the Events Division. This is a newly created role and will be responsible for being the creative lead on the design and transformation of the gardens across all nine of our Hand Picked Hotels within the Events division. Ensuring the highest standards of horticulture to enhance the hotel grounds, contribute to a memorable guest experience, complement the commercial endeavours of the hotels and reflect the ethos of Hand Picked Hotels. This role can be based from the Midlands or South as will require extensive travel. About the role: As Head of Garden Design for the Events division hotels, you will create outstanding gardens of the highest quality and original design, which will reflect the ethos of the group, offering a synergy between interior and exterior spaces, responding to the heritage and unique sense of place of each individual hotel. You will communicate frequently with the Shareholders during the design process to ensure alignment of vision, design choices balance the enhancement of guest experience and aesthetic appeal with the practicalities of maintenance and ongoing cost implications. Liaising with the onsite hotel teams to ensure the gardens are complementary to their storytelling and integrated into their operations. Working with the Head of Garden Delivery and their team of Garden Managers, you will oversee the execution of the design schemes and guide the prioritisation and focus of the garden design work for each hotel. About you: To be considered for this role you must have exceptional and in depth garden design experience within an a luxury environment. Be able to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of Vectorworks/CAD training. Knowledge of implementing kitchen & herb gardens is essential. We are looking for someone with strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a can-do attitude. Ability to evaluate and prioritise requests with a clear focus on execution and results. Experience with historic listed properties and gardens is an advantage. You will be flexible in your approach to work, highly motivated & passionate and a team player. As our Event hotels are spread out throughout the UK, you will need to be willing to travel and have your own transport.
