Job Description
This role involves working across two contracts: the Work-Well Programme and the East Birmingham Jobs and Skills Hub. The postholder will coordinate with local health services, Job Centres, and organizations to support individuals at risk of or experiencing long-term unemployment due to health issues. The role includes working within a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) based in various organizations, including DRC and NHS, comprising clinicians and practitioners in mental health, musculoskeletal conditions, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, social prescribing, and employment support.
The position focuses on residents of Shard End & Kitts Green and Birmingham East Central Primary Care Networks, providing access and navigation to services that promote employment, health, and wellbeing. Key responsibilities include developing individual action plans, supporting clients into employment or further training, engaging with employers, maintaining accurate records, and participating in outreach and promotional activities. The role also involves working collaboratively within the MDT, ensuring service quality, and adhering to policies on equality, diversity, data protection, and safeguarding.
Person Specification
* Experience working with unemployed or economically inactive adults, especially those with health conditions
* Person-centred coaching, mentoring, and interpersonal skills, with relevant qualifications or willingness to obtain them
* Knowledge of welfare benefits and employment-related benefits
* Understanding of mental health conditions and local labour market in Birmingham & Solihull
* Proficiency in IT, social media, and data management systems
* Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and support a team
* Commitment to equality, inclusion, and diversity
* Willingness to travel and work flexibly across different locations
* Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
