Are you a patient, passionate Maths teacher who thrives on helping young people overcome barriers and achieve success?
We are seeking a committed and empathetic Maths Teacher to work 1:1 with students aged 16+ who have Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will play a key role in helping learners build their confidence and attain Functional Skills Maths qualifications, while supporting their transition into apprenticeships, college courses, and employment.
* Deliver personalised 1:1 Maths sessions, focused on Functional Skills (Entry Level to Level 2)
* Build strong, positive relationships with students to support both academic and emotional development
* Develop individualised learning plans in collaboration with SEN specialists
* Monitor and report on progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed
* Promote readiness for real-world settings such as work or further education
* Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, Cert Ed, or equivalent)
* Experience teaching Functional Skills Maths
* A strong understanding of SEN and differentiated teaching methods
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A positive, flexible approach to working in a 1:1 environment
* Experience in post-16 education or alternative provisions
* Familiarity with EHCPs and supporting students with complex needs
* Knowledge of vocational pathways and the apprenticeship system
* A supportive and inclusive working environment
