We are looking for an experienced electrical professional to play a key role in delivering a reliable and safe electrical service across council homes and buildings in York.
This is an important role within Building Services and your work will directly support the electrical team in ensuring that tenants homes are safe and well maintained.
Based at Hazel Court, with work across the city, you will manage the day‑to‑day running of the electrical services team.
This Includes
* supervising electricians
* reviewing electrical certificates
* carrying out on‑site inspection
* resolving technical issues
* acting as the Qualifying Supervisor for our NICEIC registration
* ensuring all electrical work meets the standards set out in BS7671
* supporting apprentices as needed and contribute to developing skills within the team.
* co‑ordinating electrical testing programmes, checking the quality of completed work, and helping to plan electrical tasks across the city.
You Will Work With
* the electrical team leader, planners, surveyors, repairs teams, compliance colleagues, and other business areas across the council to ensure electrical works are completed to a high standard.
* Building Services contractors, supporting them on site, monitoring progress, and helping maintain good communication to keep jobs on track.
About You
* a qualified and experienced electrician
* have strong technical knowledge
* confident to supervise others.
* comfortable making decisions on site
* able to communicate clearly with tenants and colleagues
* able to keep accurate records.
Experience in electrical testing, inspection, and compliance work is essential.
