Murray McIntosh are currently searching for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join a key client in the defence industry as detailed below:
The products the company designs and manufactures are non-lethal.
You will be responsible for overseeing the complete design process, starting with initial specifications and culminating in verified software. The ideal candidate will possess advanced proficiency in software design, testing, and verification.
This role is hybrid, working 3 days a week on site and 2 from home.
Responsibilities:
1. Use good practice to produce embedded software for new products.
2. Support and develop existing software.
3. Producing technical documentation including low level requirement specifications, test specification and functional description.
4. Will be expected to take responsibility of a small project/work package. This will involve scoping the task and defining resources together with estimated time scales. Project ownership will involve monitoring project progress and reporting to stake holders.
5. Building software packages for release; including configuring the release, raising the appropriate documentation, and chairing the release meeting.
6. Proficient in the use of test equipment (signal generators, spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes etc.)
7. Mentoring junior members of the team.
8. Technical liaison with external suppliers and customers.
9. Travel within the UK and Germany (on an ad hoc basis).
Requirements:
10. A master's or bachelor's degree.
11. A minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of embedded software design. (Junior candidates who have not held a senior title previously will also be considered if they have the right amount of experience).
12. Demonstrated success in delivering designs within specified timelines and budget constraints.
13. A good standard of written and verbal English communication.
14. Experience in working with radar or related Digital Signal Processing (DSP) applications is desirable.
