Overview
Ward Clerk, Assessment and Treatment Unit, Harplands Hospital: maternity cover to 13 July 2026. Part-time, 22.5 hours per week. This role is not eligible for sponsorship.
This vacancy is open at this stage to internal employees of organisations within the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care System, including North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust, Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust, University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (including Black Country Procurement Group and North Midlands and Cheshire Pathology Service), and Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board.
To provide a comprehensive clerical service to the ward, ensuring that duties are carried out accurately and confidentially. The post involves contact with patients and their families, so good communication skills are vital. The post is fixed term to cover maternity leave.

Responsibilities
* Adopt a flexible approach and recognise changing priorities throughout the day in respect of the fluctuating nature of a busy service.
* Ensure accurate and efficient allocation, recording and despatch of mail.
* Receive telephone calls, refer to nursing staff or take/allocate messages as appropriate.
* Receive and send documentation and e-mail as per policy.
* Produce correspondence and other documentation as required.
* Photocopy, collate and distribute documentation as required.
Qualifications
* Previous clerical experience in the health service would be desirable.
* Calm, organised and well-motivated with a positive, mature and flexible approach to work.
* Good communication skills required due to contact with patients and families.
