Role Definition:
The Despatch Picker plays a critical role in ensuring customer orders are picked accurately, efficiently, and in line with customer specifications. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong product knowledge, and the ability to work at pace within a fastmoving environment. Warehouse Pickers are responsible for selecting the correct products from a wide range of SKUs, ensuring order accuracy, maintaining traceability, and protecting product integrity prior to loading.

Key Responsibilities
1.Order Picking & Accuracy
Pick customer orders accurately using scanning equipment and pick sheets.
Ensure correct SKU, quantity, and product description are selected.
Verify tray counts and pallet contents match the order requirements.
Maintain a zero-error mindset to prevent customer shortages or incorrect deliveries.
2. Product Knowledge
Develop a strong understanding of the full SKU range across the site.
Identify products by label, description, and Code
Understand differences between similar SKUs to avoid picking errors.
3. Traceability & Compliance
Ensure all products scanned and picked maintain full traceability.
Follow site procedures for scanning, palletising, and labelling.
Adhere to all food safety and customer integrity standards.
4. Pallet Building & Presentation
Build mixed pallets safely and logically to prevent damage during transport.
Ensure pallets are stable, correctly wrapped, and labelled before loading.
Work closely with loading teams to ensure correct trailer allocation.

5. Pace & Operational Efficiency
Operate efficiently within a fast-paced despatch environment.
Respond quickly to late production changes or additional orders.
Support despatch teams to ensure trucks depart on time.
6. Stock Awareness
Identify stock location and availability within despatch areas.
Highlight missing or incorrect stock immediately to supervisors.
Assist in maintaining organised stock locations.
7. Equipment Use
Operate handheld scanners and other picking equipment.
Follow correct procedures when scanning products and pallets.
Report equipment faults promptly.
8. Teamwork & Communication
Communicate clearly with supervisors, loaders, and production teams.
Support colleagues during high-volume periods.
Escalate potential picking issues early to avoid customer impact.
Personal Specification
High level of attention to detail.
Experienced pickers desirable
Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
Good understanding of warehouse and despatch processes.
Experience using handheld scanning equipment.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Reliable, proactive, and able to work as part of a team.
Comfortable working in chilled warehouse environments.

Pay & Shift Pattern: £14.00 Per Hour, varied shifts - 40 hours per week.
