Job Description

Are you an experienced HLTA with passion for nurturing young people with additional needs?

We support children from diverse backgrounds, all of whom have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Many also have additional Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism, ADHD, and communication challenges.

Our work is both rewarding and complex. As a trauma- and attachment-informed organisation, we provide all staff with comprehensive therapeutic training and ongoing support.

Our collaborative, child-centred approach ensures that education and therapy professionals, families, local authorities, and—most importantly—our students work together to achieve exceptional outcomes.

The Role

You will play a vital role in fostering a healing, supportive environment. You’ll be part of the school’s leadership team, working holistically to guide and model therapeutic practices that help students thrive.

You will be co-managed by Regional SENCOs and the Therapeutic Development Manager, and will be instrumental in shaping the school’s therapeutic culture.

We’re looking for someone who is calm, empathetic, and experienced in de-escalation strategies. A strong understanding of trauma-informed frameworks and emotional support interventions is essential.

You’ll receive CPD training in our Assessing and Healing Childhood Trauma (AHCT) approach and will help embed this practice across the school community.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead on pastoral care, SMSC, socio-emotional resilience, and personal development.
* Monitor and support students’ holistic progress and wellbeing.
* Uphold safeguarding standards and ensure policy compliance.
* Contribute to the School Improvement Plan and Evaluation Form.
* Promote SMSC and Personal Development in line with Independent School Standards and Ofsted frameworks.
* Deliver meaningful intervention groups and model therapeutic best practices.
What We Offer

As part of a trauma-informed organisation, you’ll benefit from:

* Extensive Training: Free, ongoing CPD and therapeutic workshops.
* Career Progression: Opportunities to grow within Therapeutic Services and the wider organisation.
* Peer Supervision: Clinical and therapeutic support to enhance your practice.
* Inclusion Initiatives: Join GRACE, our weekly inclusion and reflection group.
* Wellbeing Support: Access to confidential therapeutic wellbeing sessions.
* Engagement Conferences: Biannual national events with accommodation and meals provided.
* Recognition & Rewards: Monthly REACH Awards and service bonuses up to £600.
* Medicash Scheme: Cashback for medical and wellbeing treatments.
* Generous Leave: 8 weeks of annual leave.

We review applications on a rolling basis and may close the advert early if a suitable candidate is found, please apply ASAP to avoid missing out.
