Role Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Regional Workshop Manager, this role requires you to have a mature and professional approach with excellent communication skills. Your main duties will include:
12. Coordinating human resource matters in the areas of rosters and leave planning that complement the depot’s maintenance plans and day to day depot operations.
13. Plan, coordinate and supervise supply and warranty activities, monitor inventory holdings so that staff have access to materials and equipment required to perform all fleet maintenance activities.
14. Manage and supervise on a daily basis depot maintenance activities undertaken by depot maintenance employees and contractors including providing supervision to all workshop staff.
15. Plan and allocate repair resources for all scheduled maintenance service activities, including the allocation of staff to assist with heavy vehicle inspections, to complete work when required and to maximise the availability of buses to meet the operational needs of the depot.
16. Ensure timely and accurate service work is performed by the workshop staff including providing sufficient staff to perform workshop tasks.
17. Ensure the workshop operates within the guidelines of WH&S standards and the workshop is kept to a clean standard.
18. Supervise and train apprentices and staff ensuring that all staff have adequate capabilities and training to perform their necessary tasks.
19. Ensure all accident damage is reported and repaired as required.
20. Conduct Battery Electric Bus Lifecycle Management and complete sustainability reporting for our zero emission busses.
Our workshop staff play a critical role within the business to ensure our ever-evolving fleet of vehicles are continually maintained to the highest standard to keep our staff and passengers safe out on the road.
You can expect to be provided with all necessary training, this will include relevant information about our various makes and models of vehicles to ensure a thorough understanding of standards required to meet contract obligations.

The Successful Applicant Will:
21. Hold the relevant trade qualifications (MVTC) essential
22. Experience in a similar role with the same level of responsibilities would be highly regarded
23. Minimum 3 - 5 years working as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic
24. Mentoring apprentices to learn their trade and playing a critical role in their growth within the team
25. Day to day running of the workshop
26. Ensure adherence and understanding to WHS regulations and relevant company policies
27. Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
28. Have experience working in a team environment on daily maintenance and repair schedules
29. Apply a proactive approach with a drive for continuous improvement
30. Be physically fit to carry out the necessities of the role
31. Willing to undergo a pre-employment medical check, criminal history check and working with children check.
32. Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have unrestricted working rights in Australia
33. Hold a current Unrestricted Australian drivers licence issued by the relevant State
Highly Regarded but Not Necessary:
34. Certificate III or IV in Automotive Electrical Technology (or equivalent
35. Manufacturer-specific training for BEB busses e.g., Yutong, BYD, Volvo, Scania, Custom Denning, etc.
36. Safe work on Electric Vehicles - AS 5732:2022
37. Battery Electric Bus (BEB) Experience, including but not limited to
38. Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) safety and fire response training
39. Isolation and de-energization procedures
40. Thermal Runaway and Emergency response training
41. Battery Management System (BMS) monitoring and troubleshooting
42. Workshop Scheduling for BEB-specific servicing needs
