Our partner school in Scunthorpe is looking for a dedicated SEN Teacher to make a meaningful impact by delivering personalised learning to students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Join a nurturing SEMH environment where every student is valued, builds confidence, gains independence, and develops vital life skills.

About our partner school:
The school is a specialist SEMH school in Scunthorpe, providing a safe and supportive space for young people aged 11 to 16. Many of our students have EHCPs and diagnoses such as ADHD or ASD, and have faced challenges in mainstream education or exclusion.

Our compassionate and experienced staff work closely with each learner to create personalised learning plans that foster resilience, confidence, and independence. We believe every child deserves to learn in a calm, inclusive environment where wellbeing is as important as academic success.

We celebrate all achievements, big and small, and engage with families to ensure our students feel supported, motivated, and ready to thrive both in school and beyond.

Key responsibilities:
* Plan and teach engaging lessons to small groups and individual students
* Prepare learning materials, take registers, and write detailed reports
* Support students' confidence, independence, and personal development
* Manage behaviour effectively and maintain regular communication with parents and carers
Requirements:
* Passionate and committed to supporting students with SEND
* Minimum 2 years' experience working in a SEND or similar educational setting
* QTS/QTLS qualification is desirable
Benefits of joining our partner school:
* NEST enhanced pension scheme
* Staff referral bonus (£500)
* Enhanced maternity and paternity pay
* Access to a Blue Light discount card
* Fully funded training and qualifications for all colleagues
* Competitive pay scales based on experience and qualifications
* Employee wellbeing app and a range of discounts
* Life assurance
Commitment to equality and safeguarding
Our partner school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. This role requires an enhanced DBS check, suitable references, and online safeguarding checks. The role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

Our partner school is part of the Armed Forces Covenant and welcomes applications from service personnel, veterans, and military families. Veteran-friendly policies, a peer support network, and military awareness training are in place. Current and former service personnel who meet the role criteria are guaranteed an interview if their military experience is included on their CV.
