Full time based at Hanslope Park near Milton Keynes

You’re flexible and adaptable with a positive attitude and experience of managing records and information. You’re keen to learn new skills and enjoy putting your own mark on a role. You’re ambitious and now you want to move on to a new challenge with an influential and important organisation. Here at FCDO Services we’ve got a unique opportunity for you, one that will see you using all your knowledge of the Public Record, Data Protection and Freedom of Information Acts in an important role with a growing team.
As a trusted government partner, we work on a huge range of projects, and help protect the UK’s interests around the world. We design and construct secure government buildings. We help earthquake-proof embassies. We keep complex developments on track, and on budget. And a whole lot more besides. Now we’re looking for a team-focused digital records manager to join our Sensitivity Review service here at Hanslope Park.
Join the team that transfers records to the National Archives
When you join us in this role, you’ll be a key member of a team that enables UK Government departments to select, review and transfer records consistently and securely for permanent preservation at the National Archives. Managing multiple work streams and a large review team, you’ll work closely with our government customers and external IT partners as you process digital records in preparation for their transfer to the archive. Your colleagues will include policy officers with experience of historical world events, operations specialists responsible for preparing the information for review, and a technology team which develops and supports the cutting-edge software applications.
Collaborate with senior colleagues throughout Government
You’ll have a range of additional responsibilities – these include engaging with government customers to manage the Digital Records process and ensuring that retention, referral and redaction policies are in place for all review services. You’ll be expected to liaise with stakeholders in Government Departments and the National Archives, collaborate with senior colleagues throughout our organisation and engage with our technology collaboration partner to inform the development and design of our digital capabilities. We’ll also expect you to attend cross-government forums and meetings with members of the information assurance community.
Use all your management skills as we defend the UK’s national security interests
With strong governance, resource, risk, records and line management skills, you’ll be capable of analysing, interrogating and evaluating data, and have well developed experience of working in service delivery. A collaborative and motivating team manager with excellent customer, stakeholder and supplier service skills, you’ll be capable of working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Teams would be desirable, as would experience of using a bespoke document management system and dealing with subject access requests. In addition, Practitioner CSEG KIM Accreditations would be a bonus.
Grow your career in the biggest way possible
When you join us, you’ll be contributing to protecting the nation’s interests at home and overseas – but how will we help you in return? As well as a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement and a Civil Service pension, we’ll also support your development with training opportunities to help you advance your career with us. Our offices have an on-site gym, nursery, canteen, and we offer interest-free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there.
If you’re successful with your application you’ll need to achieve Developed Vetting security clearance. This process can take some time, but the end result – an exciting and fulfilling career with FCDO Services – means that it’s well worth the wait.
