Raytheon UK is seeking a skilled andhigh-performing Electronics Design Engineer to join our successfulAssured Position, Navigation, and Timing (APNT) team within theGlobal Sensors Mission Area. In this role, you'll contribute to thecreation of Digital GPS Anti-Jam Systems for the military market.The position is based at Raytheon's Harlow facility, offering ahybrid working split, and the successful candidate will reportdirectly to the APNT Digital Hardware EngineeringLead.
MainDuties:
As a Hardware/FirmwareEngineer, you'll play a pivotal role in a dynamic team, making yourmark on a broad range of product designs. You will be involved inthe integration of these designs into products, serving as thefocal point for the complete system. Your responsibilities willinclude:
* Schematic generation, PCBdesign, component selection, evaluation, andverification.
* Collaboration with systemengineers on architectures of electronicsubsystems.
* Development of requirements toensure compliance with relevantstandards.
* Collaboration with embedded softwareengineers and mechanical engineers.
* Generationof supporting design documentation and regular technicalreviews.
CandidateRequirements:
Essential:
* Experiencewith embedded digital electronics and microprocessorsystems.
* Experience working with FPGAs and SoCtechnologies.
* VHDL programming language forXilinx or Microsemi FPGAs.
* Experience takingprototypes to production hardware.
* PCB designin conformance with defense engineering standards/airbornestandards.
* Design experience formanufacture.
* Clear and concise presentation oftechnical information.
* Analytical andproblem-solving skills.
* Openness to learn andadopt new techniques.
* Ability to adapt to adynamic work environment, working independently orcollaboratively.
* Analyzing and reporting ontechnical data.
* Eligible or holder of currentSC securityclearance.
Desirable:
* Experiencewith the Xilinx chip family.
* Familiarity with asystems engineering approach across the design and development lifecycle.
* Experience with Mentor Xpedition PCBdesign tool and SPICE.
* Experience creatingDO254 compliant electronic systems.
* Workingwith Model Based System Engineering tools such asSimulink.
* APNT systems domain knowledge and/orexperience in a similar field.
* Understanding ofenvironmental requirements (shock, vibration, EMC, etc.) andexperience applying and testing for theserequirements.
