Salary: £32,169.60 per annum

We're looking for an experienced and compassionate individual to join our team as a Funeral Director based from our Henry Paul Funeral Directors in Ruislip. You'll oversee funeral operations across the brand and wider area and ensure every service is delivered to the highest standard, while supporting families through one of life's most challenging moments. As a representative of both the local brand and the wider Dignity Group, you'll also play an important role in engaging with the local community and building trusted relationships.

The Role
As a Funeral Director, you'll lead on the day of the funeral, coordinating teams and managing all aspects of service delivery. You will act as a guide for families, a leader to colleagues, and a representative of Dignity's values within your community. As a representative of both your local branch and the wider Dignity Group, you'll help maintain our trusted presence in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and conduct funeral services in a dignified, respectful, and professional manner
* Support families with empathy and guidance throughout the funeral process
* Coordinate with arrangers, operatives, ministers/celebrants, and venues to ensure smooth execution of services
* Ensure funeral vehicles, staff, and ceremonial elements are prepared and meet required standards
* Oversee funeral logistics on the day, including timings, team direction, and venue setup
* Assist with coffin preparation, handling of the deceased, and chapel duties where required
* Provide leadership and mentoring to less experienced team members
* Support with local community engagement and promotion of the brand you represent
* Uphold health and safety, compliance, and professional standards at all times
About You
We're looking for someone who:
* Experienced in funeral service operations and conducting funerals
* Demonstrates excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
* Calm under pressure with a respectful, compassionate approach to service
* Physically capable of manual handling tasks, including coffin bearing
* Comfortable with direct contact with the deceased in varying circumstances
* Holds a Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
* Willing to work flexibly, including weekends and on-call duties as required

Dignity Prepaid Funeral Plans are designed to give our customersreassurance and peace of mind, knowing their funeral has been planned and paidfor in advance. They are also designed to protect loved ones from theadditional stress of arranging and paying for a funeral, when the time comes.

Dignity Funeral Plans recently won the Feefo Gold Service award,an independent seal of excellence that recognises businesses for deliveringexceptional experiences, as rated by real customers.

BRITISH HEART FOUNDATION

In 2018, Dignity raised £218,000 for itscorporate charity, the British Heart Foundation, and has raised £448,000 sinceJanuary 2017.

Fundraising initiatives include sponsoredwalks, marathons and skydives; selling lapel badges; football events, raffles,carol services and numerous cake sales and coffee mornings. Dignity also gaveclients the option to make a charitable donation when adding a message of remembranceto our Memorial Christmas Trees.

CPR TRAINING

Every year 30,000 people in the UK have anout-of-hospital cardiac arrest, but the survival rate is less than one in ten.British Heart Foundation is on a mission to change that and want to increasethe number of people that know how to save a life.

During our partnership there willopportunities for Dignity staff to learn Call Push Rescue (CPR) techniques thatmay help save a life.

DIGNITY SPONSORED DEFIBRILLATORS

A defibrillator is a device that gives a highenergy electric shock to the heart through the chest wall to someone who is incardiac arrest. This high energy shock is called defibrillation and it is anessential life saving step in the chain of survival.

There are already many defibrillators availablein public places such as train stations, shopping centres, airports and leisurecentres. These defibrillators are often known as public access defibrillators(PAD) as anyone can use them in an emergency.

Our partnership with British HeartFoundation enables us to purchase defibrillators to be located at crematoriafor use in an emergency.

We are also looking to acquire defibrillators to belocated on the exterior of funeral homes in areas where there is a highfootfall and towns without existing defibrillators.
