Job Title : Product Owner - Payments Gateway Location : Fleet (3 Days on site a week) Salary/Rate : £310 - £360 Per Day (Inside IR35) Start Date : 01/09/2025 Company Introduction We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading consultancy clients! We are looking for a Product Owner to join our Smartpay Advance team and take ownership of delivering omnichannel payment experiences through our payment gateway. You will work closely with the Product Manager and cross-functional teams to translate the payment method strategy into actionable deliverables, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs. As a key member of the Ways to Pay team, you will be responsible for managing the product backlog, defining user stories, and prioritising features that enhance our payment capabilities for corporate merchants. Key Responsibilities : Backlog Ownership: Maintain and prioritise the product backlog for payment method features and enhancements. Requirements Definition: Translate strategic product vision into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with internal stakeholders, including engineering, compliance, operations, and commercial teams, to gather requirements and ensure alignment. Delivery Oversight: Partner with delivery teams to ensure timely and high-quality implementation of payment features. Customer Focus: Represent the voice of the customer in all stages of product development, ensuring solutions meet user needs and deliver business value. Market Awareness: Stay informed on payment trends, regulatory changes (e.g., PSD2, PCI-DSS), and competitor offerings to inform product decisions. Agile Practices: Operate within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), participating in PI planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Essential Skills & Qualifications : Proven experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst in a fintech or payments environment. Strong understanding of payment methods and gateway technologies relevant to corporate merchants. Experience working in Agile/Scrum or SAFe environments. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Desirable Skills : Experience working with third-party payment providers or technology partners. Familiarity with omnichannel commerce and digital payment ecosystems.
