Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a desire to learn and grow within the hospitality industry. As a Commis, you will assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes, ensuring that all food safety standards are met while contributing to a positive kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals under the guidance of senior chefs.
* Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety in accordance with regulations.
* Support the team in managing kitchen operations efficiently.
* Participate in food production and ensure timely service during peak hours.
* Help with inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed.
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to create innovative dishes and improve menu offerings.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations and kitchen areas.
Experience
* Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred, showcasing your culinary skills.
* Supervising experience or team management skills would be advantageous.
* A background in food preparation, cooking, or food production is essential.
* Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations is required.
* Experience within the hospitality or restaurant sector is highly desirable.
