Teaching Personnel are recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to support schools in the St Helens area for the upcoming academic year. We are looking for caring, patient, and motivated individuals who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs to thrive in education.
About the Role:
* Supporting children with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech & Language difficulties, Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs (SEMH), and Moderate/Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD).
* Working closely with class teachers and SENCOs to deliver tailored support and learning activities.
* Providing 1:1 assistance or small group support, helping pupils to engage and progress both academically and socially.
* Encouraging independence and building positive relationships with pupils.
Experience - we welcome a range of backgrounds, including:
* Previous school or classroom experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant.
* Care work (adult or child) or experience in residential care settings.
* Youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, or community work with children/young people.
* Psychology, Education, or Health & Social Care graduates seeking school-based experience.
* Individuals with personal experience supporting SEN (siblings/family members).
