Job summary – What to expect:
As a Business Development Manager of our Sales Team, you will effectively plan territory coverage, deliver a blended contact strategy, and build strong business relationships with customers to achieve an annual territory sales target and personal performance objectives. You will maximise results through delivering agreed priorities, setting up and implementing commercial business plans with customers within the designated territory area and in line with company objectives and policies.
* Manage sales of all customers within the defined territory, providing a principal point of contact for CooperVision with the overall objective of achieving long-term, year-on-year sales growth.
* Manage day-to-day operations of the territory, designated customers, and Cooper Vision’s products and services.
* Develop and introduce new products to customers to maximize opportunities.
* Ensure outstanding knowledge of CooperVision’s products, clinical and technical information, product strategy, market positioning, and brand messages to assist customers in selecting the best suited products.
* Deliver training programmes to retail staff to improve product knowledge and placement.
* Organise and execute clinical training in liaison with the Professional Services team to enhance clinical knowledge and build brand loyalty.
* Build close relationships with Regional Managers and representatives within the account structure to facilitate commercial, retail training, and educational programmes.
* Represent the company at seminars, exhibitions, and meetings to enhance customer experience with CooperVision’s team.

About you:
You will be a sales professional with experience in a sales environment and demonstrable success in achieving sales results through strong business acumen. You should work well under pressure, possess strong organisational skills, be an excellent communicator, and demonstrate resilience and tenacity.
Experience & Education:
* Proven experience and a track record of achieving sales targets.
* Ability to positively impact prospective and existing customers using a coaching style.
* Strong interpersonal skills to influence at all management levels.
* Excellent relationship-building, listening, and coaching skills.
* Understanding of investigative questioning and sales processes.
* Proactive, able to work independently and as part of a team to meet objectives.
* Ability to manage a large geographical sales area.
* Experience in the optical industry is preferable.
* Computer literacy in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is essential.
* Home-based role with approximately 60% travel within the territory and occasional UK and international travel.
* Availability to attend evening/weekend exhibitions and seminars, including overnight stays.
