Come and join Our Growing, Dynamic Radiology Department
We are seeking Consultant Radiologists specialising in Oncology and Breast Imaging to join our expanding team at Worthing Hospital.
The role requires a thorough grounding in clinical radiology including ultrasound and cross sectional skills. The post holder will be required to perform specialist head and neck scanning and biopsies / FNA's, also participate in MDM's.
An interest in paediatric imaging would be desireable as we enhance our children’s and young people’s imaging pathways.
Main duties of the job
The clinical duties of the post include the following:
1. General elective and acute (hot) reporting
2. Subspecialty skills including FNA’s / biopsies
3. MDM
4. Sub-speciality reporting
5. Participation in on-call service
6. Supervision of radiology trainees
Teaching and training are an integral part with rotating radiology trainees and speciality training.

Experience and Qualifications
Essential criteria
7. Basic Medical Degree
8. FRCR or appropriate specialist qualification
9. Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
10. CCT in Radiology or equivalent (equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC)
11. Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC
Desirable criteria
12. Higher Degree
13. Distinctions, scholarships, prizes, other degress e.g. BSc, MSc, MS
Clinical Skills & Experience
Essential criteria
14. Broad experience of general acute diagnostic imaging (including trauma CT) and general outpatient imaging
15. Good cross-sectional skills in body and emergency imaging
16. Experience of breast US and US guided breast procedures.
17. Experience of diagnostic Head and neck US.
18. Experience in US guided neck FNA and biopsies
19. Experience of supporting MDMs
20. Understanding of clinical risk management
