Higher Clerical Officer – Pharmacy Homecare Medicines Team
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Higher Clerical Officer to join our growing Pharmacy Homecare Medicines Team. The role is based in the pharmacy homecare medicines department and will be responsible for providing administrative support to the pharmacy homecare team to ensure that patients receive timely supplies of medication, and for maintaining accurate pharmacy records.
Responsibilities
* Create purchase orders for homecare medicines.
* Confirm goods receipt by patients.
* Process invoices for payment and maintain pharmacy homecare records.
* Use the pharmacy computer system to accurately book in and out of homecare prescriptions.
* Demonstrate excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and effective communication within a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Practical knowledge of office systems gained through SVQ111 or equivalent.
* Experience working in an office procurement environment.
* Understanding of Standing Financial Instructions.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
* Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
* Experience and understanding of pharmaceutical terminology.
* Ability to work under pressure and plan, prioritise and organise workload.
* Demonstrate customer awareness/focus.
* Flexibility to work public holidays.
Contract Type
* Permanent
* Full time – 37 hours per week
Location & Working Pattern
This role will be based in the Pharmacy department within University Hospital Wishaw. Applicants shortlisted may be considered for similar vacancies in alternative locations.
