We are a 500-year-old Tudor Palace based in the countryside of Essex.

Layer Marney Tower is steeped in history and is a popular landmark in the county, welcoming visitors to the grounds seasonally. There are a number of activities and events held here across the year. From Big Bus Tours via our Routemaster Bus, to Vintage Fairs, to regular corporate events and functions, there is always something happening here!

In the 120 acres we call home, you can also stay in our glamping site, thanks to our partnership with Featherdown Farms.

On top of all of this, we are also a leading luxury wedding venue, the iconic Tower makes for a unique setting for couples, and we are proud to have made many newlyweds dreams come true over the years.

We are looking for an individual who can support the team part-time, working closely with our Wedding Manager, to evolve our digital portfolio.

The ideal candidate will create and maintain a strong online presence for Layer Marney Tower using our social media channels Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X. You will have experience of building social profiles from the ground up, be capable of filming and creating engaging content for these platforms and have confidence using tools such as Canva and Adobe Photoshop to achieve this to a high standard.

Increasing brand awareness, as well as retaining and engaging our existing online communities, is important for us. You will have ideas for new, innovative ways to promote Layer Marney Tower, creating marketing strategies to ensure maximum visibility. The successful applicant therefore must be a strong communicator and able to talk directly to suppliers and media bodies when required, to promote us appropriately to a wider audience.

This role has particular focus on our weddings, with the aim of converting your content into bookings for Layer Marney Tower. There will however be a need to support in other areas of the business for example, planning content and campaigns for upcoming events on an 'as and when' basis.

You'll be based in the Layer Marney Tower office, two days a week (days to be agreed), 9-5pm. Due to our rural location, it is essential you can drive or have means of getting to us. This is not a hybrid role, but we are flexible, so we are open to discussions if you need to change your working days for any reason too.

Finally, Layer Marney Tower is a family home and a proud dog friendly public attraction. There are two bouncy but lovely resident dogs, Guinea and Fennel, that will be your desk buddy and regular support animal. If you're allergic or fearful of dogs, do bear this in mind when applying.

Responsibilities:

* Create engaging and inspiring content that can translate into ticket sales and wedding bookings.
* Build and maintain an optimal content posting schedule for multi-platforms
* Collaborating with wedding suppliers and other relevant companies to .
* Social Media management: You will be owning our platforms.
* Monitoring web and social traffic, identifying gaps and areas for improvement, feeding this back to the team and taking ownership of actions.
* Ad-hoc website management for both Layer Marney Tower and Layer Marney Tower Weddings. Experience using Wordpress or SEO is a plus.

Ideal Skills and Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Media, Marketing, Communications, or relevant field.
* Previous experience as a Social Media Coordinator or similar role for a brand or prominent organisation, with proven track record of success.
* Strong communication, multitasking, and analytical skills.
* Strong written English: From engaging social media copy to long-form features to striking marketing headlines to potential press releases. You're able to adapt and tailor copy to a number of written materials when required.
* Managing multiple suppliers and individuals as part of any campaign/project work.
* Experience using Canva, Adobe Photoshop or relevant editing tools.
* Event management: This position is more of a supportive role, but experience of overseeing events would be beneficial.

Bonus but not essential:

* Press and Media relations experience, with contacts up your sleeve.
* Access to camera or filming equipment (or very good using a smartphone)
