We are pleased to be able to offer an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Clinical Specialist to join our Scarborough & Ryedale Wellbeing in Mind Team.
The Wellbeing in Mind Team are MHSTs who work directly into education. This is in line with the government's priority to increase access and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people within education settings.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership to the Wellbeing in Mind Team.
* Support the development of a whole-school or college approach to wellbeing, including developing and implementing mental health and wellbeing policies, resources, campaigns, training, assemblies and PHSE curriculum.
* Provide timely advice and consultation to education staff, designed to support teaching staff to build skills and confidence in supporting the wellbeing needs of students/pupils, offered in both formal and informal formats.
* Undertake direct assessments and intervention for young people within education, operating a low intensity service model, predominantly using cognitive-behavioural therapy.
* Share responsibilities across the team, with each core function accounting for one third of the workload.
* Manage time and priorities effectively, balance competing demands, and work collaboratively with a wide range of partners and stakeholders.
* Act as a resource to provide specialist mental health advice, training, guidance and consultation to staff in educational settings.
* Form part of a locality-wide leadership team with Team Managers and Clinical Leads, taking a lead role in the development of clinical services with support from the existing leadership team.
Qualifications and Experience
* The post holder will be part of a locality-wide leadership team and will take a lead role in the development of clinical services.
* Ability to manage relationships and collaborate with a wide range of partners and stakeholders is vital.
