We're looking for a caring and committed Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Formby this January. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, helping them thrive in the classroom and beyond. You’ll work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to deliver tailored strategies that promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing. What You’ll Be Doing: Providing 1:1 and small group support for children with behavioural challenges Using positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques Helping pupils build confidence, resilience, and social skills Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals Keeping track of progress and contributing to behaviour support plans What We’re Looking For: Experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach Knowledge of restorative practices and behaviour management techniques Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 TA or behaviour training) are a bonus, but not essential About the School: Inclusive and nurturing environment with a strong focus on wellbeing Supportive leadership and dedicated SEN team Great transport links and easy access from surrounding areas A real community feel and commitment to staff development Why Work with Teaching Personnel?
