Role Details Role/Job Title: IT Project Manager Work Location: Edinburgh If Hybrid, How Many Days Are Required in Office? 3 days Any Other Working Conditions (travel/on call/shifts): Day rate includes being available in office, potential on call during releases additional compensation to be agreed The Role The IT Project Manager is responsible for end-to-end delivery of infrastructure and technology projects, ensuring adherence to approved scope, schedule, and budget. The role ensures delivery quality aligns with contractual SLAs and KPIs, drives governance and risk management, and maintains strong stakeholder engagement to achieve agreed business outcomes. Your Responsibilities (Up to 10, Avoid repetition) Lead the initial scoping of the project to ensure business case, project objectives, deliverables and success measures are appropriately defined. Apply project management tools and techniques appropriately to effectively manage the project to successful delivery. Produce high quality project documentation, including plans, actions, decisions, risks, issues, incidents and governance in line with the project objectives to ensure successful delivery. Identify and actively manage stakeholders throughout the project to ensure project sponsor, steering group and other stakeholders are kept informed of project progress. Work within defined project governance framework to ensure risks and issues associated with the project are appropriately recorded and monitored. Develop network of contacts internally and externally to draw on and share best practice of project management. Determining when project risks and issues can be dealt with internally, and where they need to be escalated to senior stakeholders. Building strong relationships with project team members and other stakeholders when there is no direct line management responsibility. Effectively managing projects with limited resources within a cost pressured environment. Effectively balancing long and short term objectives to meet agreed timescales within an environment of change. Your Profile Essential Skills / Knowledge / Experience (Up to 10, Avoid repetition) Extensive IT Project Management skills and experience, ideally with applications and infrastructure. Strong communication skills with experience of communicating with different levels of stakeholders on a regular basis and being able to represent IT Change Delivery across Group IT and the wider Phoenix Group when required. Experience of working with, and managing, third party technology providers. Adaptable approaches and behaviours to deal with any emerging issues and challenges.
