Pay rate: £271.57 per day PAYE

The role:
The team is seeking a Disrepair Supervisor / Case Handle to manage the caseload for the disrepair surveying team responsible for responsive repairs to the council's stock of dwellings, buildings, and land managed by Landlord Services.
The role includes reviewing Particulars of Claims submitted as disrepair claims against the council, monitoring progress from start to completion, ensuring high-quality work, getting work done “right-first-time,” achieving high customer satisfaction within budget, and providing a cost-effective, value-for-money service.
Case handlers may be required to attend court on an ad-hoc basis. The team consists of approximately 15 people.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain day-to-day supervision of administrative staff in the team.
* Act as lead consultant providing expert witness advice and reports on technical housing matters, including PAD applications, FOIs, SARs, EIRs, Ombudsman reports, Disrepair claims, and complaints, as well as Accident Litigation claims.
* Attend court as a witness to defend disrepair claims.

* Skilled in performance management, staff development, and delivering high standards of customer service.
* Deep technical knowledge of housing repairs, legal compliance, and complex case handling, including disrepair claims and litigation.
* Successful experience managing contractors, overseeing project delivery, and ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
* Proficiency in using housing systems and scheduling tools.
* Experience in financial oversight, resource planning, and promoting value-for-money solutions.
* Commitment to health and safety, safeguarding, and environmental standards.
* Strong communication skills, with excellent report writing and customer engagement abilities.
* Holds a full UK driving licence and provides reliable out-of-hours support.
