1:1 Tutor (In-Home / School Setting) – Wellingborough Area Location: Wellingborough and surrounding areas Hours: School hours (flexible within 8:30am–3:30pm) Type: Part-time / Contract Pay: Competitive (dependent on experience and qualifications) About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Tutor to support pupils in either their home or school setting during school hours. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in a child’s educational journey. You will work closely with pupils who may require additional support due to a range of needs, helping them to engage with learning in a personalised and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities Deliver tailored 1:1 tutoring sessions aligned with the pupil’s individual learning plan Support pupils in core subjects such as English, Maths, and/or other areas as required Build positive, trusting relationships to support engagement and confidence Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs (including SEN where applicable) Provide feedback on progress and maintain session records Liaise with parents, schools, and other professionals where necessary Requirements Experience working with children or young people (tutoring, teaching, or support work) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) Relevant qualifications (teaching, tutoring, or subject-specific) are desirable but not essential Desirable Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching qualification (QTS) or equivalent Background in education, youth work, or mentoring What We Offer Flexible working hours during school time Rewarding, impactful work supporting individual learners Ongoing support and guidance Opportunities for professional development How to Apply To apply, please send your CV and a short cover letter outlining your experience and suitability for the role All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
