Clinical Fellow Registrar in Urology

- Work at least at the level of a Registrar doctor and contribute to the day‑to‑day running of general surgical wards.
- Partake in emergency on‑call rota, including 24‑hour non‑resident on‑call as middle grade 1:8.
- Attend Integrated Surgical and local specialty teaching, core surgical training and grand rounds.
- Undertake audits and quality improvement projects.
- Develop interests in Urology specialty, encouraging other specialty interests as well.
- Work closely within multidisciplinary teams to provide high quality daily and general surgical service to patients in the local area, supporting the Trust in achieving national targets.
- Participate as part of the Uro‑oncology MDT; prepare and present cases at weekly meetings.
- Flexibly support the service through theatre sessions, diagnostics and clinics, and act as registrar of the week directly supporting junior team and managing inpatients.
- Work with other specialty teams across both Ashford and St. Peter's Hospitals to provide efficient services for inpatients, day‑case and outpatients care.
Internally, the post holder will develop effective working relationships and will be expected to have excellent communication skills. Interacting with nursing staff, medical staff from other specialties and allied health professionals in addition to other members of the surgical team. Externally, relationships with colleagues in other NHS Trusts and organisations are also expected. Both written and verbal communication will be required to meet these high standards.

Person Specification
- Fully registered with the General Medical Council.
- MRCS.
- Level 3 competency in core procedures (flexible cystoscopy, stent insertion and scrotal exploration).
- Previous NHS experience.
- Previous surgical experience.
- Previous experience working at Urology Registrar level.

£67,325 a year plus additional rota payments and £149 HCAS
