Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Building Services Manager to join our Design team. In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems across a range of building projects. You will play a key part in ensuring that systems meet regulatory standards, project requirements, and client expectations while driving innovation, sustainability, and technical excellence.
This position requires a strong blend of technical expertise, project management, and leadership skills, as well as the ability to inspire and develop a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design process for all building services, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance of MEP systems.
* Plan, organise, and oversee the execution of building services projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
* Manage and mentor engineers, designers, and other professionals within the team.
* Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
* Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, regulations, industry standards, and internal procedures.
* Promote and implement sustainable design solutions.
* Identify and resolve technical or logistical challenges throughout the design and construction phases.
* Provide strategic leadership to grow the team, strengthen collaborative relationships, and maintain high levels of staff utilisation.
Requirements
* Chartered Engineer and member of a recognised professional body (e.g., CIBSE, IET).
* Degree in Mechanical Building Services or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
* Significant experience in building services design and delivery, with proven ability to manage complex projects.
* Strong knowledge of industry-standard design software, such as Cymap, Amtech, NBS, AutoCAD, and Revit MEP.
* Ability to optimise design processes, with awareness of data-driven tools such as Power BI.
* Proven track record of managing multidisciplinary teams and achieving performance targets.

* Demonstrated success in driving sustainable performance in a commercial or project-driven environment.
* Experience in fostering team growth and building collaborative, client-focused relationships.
