Position
Social Media Specialist will work within our global corporate communications team and be responsible for developing and implementing a range of social media strategies to support a global portfolio of projects. Demonstrable experience of delivering first class social media strategies (organic and paid) across multiple channels is preferable.
Location: Manchester
This is a full-time in-office role. The office is located next to Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester.
Main tasks and responsibilities
* Implement the paid social media strategy for a portfolio of key brands.
* Support the development and implementation of always-on campaigns.
* Support the development and implementation of major campaigns.
* Provide support to others across the business on social media best practice.
* Monitor and report on individual campaign performance.
* Participate in relevant team meetings on key topics related to workload.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with portfolio and other teams across the business.
* Support key corporate campaigns, projects and platforms.
* Populate a weekly content calendar.
Skills and Qualifications
* Academic degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising (or related).
* Over 1 year of experience coordinating social media or digital marketing activities for business.
* Good knowledge of key social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram. Knowledge of other channels is a plus.
* Working knowledge of Facebook Ads Manager. Knowledge of other Ad Managers is a plus.
* Knowledge of social media tools such as Hootsuite, Falcon and Sprout OR Google Suite (GA4, Tag Manager, Search Console) and data visualization tools.
* Understanding of brand, communication, and digital marketing principles.
* Excellent English language skills (written and spoken); other language skills are beneficial.
* Good organizational, analytical and prioritization abilities.
* Interest in science and science communications.
