We are looking for a part-time Evidence and Insight Analyst (hybrid working with some days of work in person in London).
Role Description
This is a part-time hybrid role for an Evidence and Insight Analyst located in the London Area, United Kingdom, with some work-from-home flexibility. The role involves conducting research and analysis to generate data-driven insights and providing actionable recommendations. The analyst will collaborate closely with teams to interpret data, produce reports, and present findings to stakeholders to drive impactful outcomes across various initiatives.
Key responsibilities
* Support the design and data analysis in a number of projects on health and social sciences, including the development of reports for use across the organisation.
* Conduct statistical analysis to identify patterns, trends, relationships, and gaps within data, contributing to evidence-based insights that support our strategic objectives. These may include standard statistical analyses and machine learning techniques.
* Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and stories that can be communicated effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Support with data collection and work with external stakeholders, including health and social care organisations, multidisciplinary healthcare professionals, academic researchers, and charities
* Conduct rapid desk reviews which include reports, scientific literature and other sources, and provide summary reports in agile frameworks.
* Contribute to grant writing and administrative operations and documentation, including the potential integration and utilisation of CRM systems, ensuring that data management is streamlined and effective.
Qualifications
Essential:
* MSc level in Data Analytics, Statistics, Public Health, Epidemiology or Psychology and research experience in research in health and social science (PhD preferred).
* Advance proficiency in data management, manipulation, and analysis, using tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, SPSS, R or similar.
* Experience conducting statistical analyses such as regression and hypothesis testing to support evidence-based insights.
* Experience conducting machine learning techniques such as LASSO regression models, supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques.
* Experience with large population datasets which may include sensitive data. Skilled in identifying patterns, trends, relationships and gaps within survey and population data, and other complex datasets, with a focus on deriving actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making.
* Experience conducting literature reviews and gathering rapid understanding of theoretical frameworks.
* Able to translate complex data into easy-to-understand visualisations, dashboards, and stories that can be used in external reports and internal presentations.
* Awareness of data protection and privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR).
* Ability to work collaboratively with others and comfortable working in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment with shifting priorities.
Desirable:
* PhD level and research experience in research in health and social science.
* ONS Accredited Researcher or SRT (Safe Researcher Training) approved by UKDS.
* Experience in survey design and using platforms such as Qualtrics.
* Experience in conducting social or behavioural analysis using methods such as interviews, ethnography, or case studies to explore human behaviour, social patterns, or cultural trends.
* Experience using large language models for data identification, extraction and synthesis.
