Job Summary
We are looking to recruit a Full time Receptionist/Administrator to join our team at New Islington Medical Practice. This essential role provides a welcoming and professional service to our patients and staff. The vacancy is for 37.5 hours; flexible working and compressed hours will be considered during the recruitment process. You will handle front-desk responsibilities and assist patients on the phone and via online consultation forms. Your duties include day-to-day administrative tasks and in-depth use of the clinical systems.
Main duties
To be successful, we are looking for someone who is dynamic, able to balance multiple tasks, and who is compassionate in dealing with patients. Flexibility is required as we operate on a shift basis with normal opening hours from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The successful candidate may cover other shifts to assist with holiday cover. There is the option of enhanced pay for hours outside this window for our extended hours service. Previous experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.

* Reception duties include: Booking telephone appointments through inbound calls.
* Calling and messaging patients regarding their care needs—managing appointments and health campaigns in line with priorities set by management.
* Updating patient records with accurate information and full documentation of actions.
* Processing online consultation forms.
* General administrative tasks.
* Ability to differentiate differing needs of a wide population and adapt processes and protocols accordingly.
* Safeguarding vulnerable patients — full training provided as the first point of contact to recognise and flag safeguarding concerns.
