Job Title: Project Coordinator / Project Manager Location: Dorchester, Dorset Salary: £27,000-£32,000 per annum (dependent on experience) I’m currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering and manufacturing company based in Dorchester, Dorset. They are looking to appoint a Project Manager / Project Coordinator-type professional to support and manage engineering projects. This role is suited to someone with the right personality and mindset rather than purely formal qualifications. The client is looking for a proactive, organised individual who is comfortable questioning progress and keeping projects on track and is motivated to develop and progress their career within project management. The Role The successful candidate will sit at the centre of project activity, coordinating work between engineering and production teams. You’ll be responsible for planning tasks, monitoring progress, and identifying potential issues before they become problems. Key Responsibilities Coordinating engineering projects from planning through to delivery Organising and prioritising tasks for in-house engineers Monitoring progress and proactively identifying delays or risks Chasing actions and questioning timelines where work is not being completed on time Acting as a key point of contact between engineering, production, and other internal teams Tracking project milestones, deadlines, and deliverables Maintaining accurate project documentation and updates The Ideal Candidate This role would suit someone who: Is naturally proactive and takes ownership of project delivery Is motivated to learn, develop, and progress within a project management function Is highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Has the confidence to question and challenge when required Communicates clearly with engineers and clients at all levels Enjoys working in a manufacturing or engineering environment Experience & Qualifications Previous experience in a project coordination, planning, or operational role is beneficial PRINCE2 or similar project management qualification - Desirable but not essential Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or a technical environment is beneficial
