Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.
Due to the classified nature of the work involved, there are limited opportunities to work from home in this role. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will spend most of their time (~80%) working on site at AWE Aldermaston.
Package: £37,860 - £70,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)
* Engineer - (e.g., recent graduate with limited experience) - £37,860-£39,500
* Experienced Engineer - £42,000-£50,000
* Senior Engineer - £47,690-£70,000
Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. We will consider flexible working requests so that your work may fit in with your lifestyle. Just let us know your preferred working pattern on your application.
Let us introduce the role
AWE is recruiting experienced Electronic Engineers. Working as part of a small team of experienced engineers, this role offers the opportunity to apply your domain knowledge and gain a deep understanding of warhead electrical systems. You will analyze these systems and develop your career with us.
The role includes designing, testing, and fault-finding of electronic hardware, with the requirement to analyze and assess existing designs.
Who are we looking for?
We do need you to have the following:
* A degree-level qualification (degree or HND etc.) in electrical/electronic engineering or applied physics, or equivalent working experience.
While not a strict checklist, we'd like you to have experience in some of the following areas:
* Analogue circuit design
* Digital support circuit design
* Electronic circuit fault finding
* Circuit simulation and modelling
* Reverse engineering & data analysis
* Switch mode power supply design (SMPS)
* High voltage circuit design considerations & electrical safety
* Failure Mode Effect Analysis (Design/Product, component level)
* Electromagnetics design, specifically small form factor transformers
You'll need to work calmly and constructively in a priority-changing environment and manage your workload effectively. Initiative, enthusiasm, flexibility, and the ability to meet tight deadlines are essential.
