Due to a sustained period of continued growthOCU Group now have an urgent requirement for an experiencedEnvironmental Advisor to join our team based in Delamere.
We are currently looking for an EnvironmentalAdvisor this role would suit a proactive selfstarting individualwho embraces challenges and has a desire to make a positive change.This role will be based out of our Delamereoffice.
Key Tasks &Responsibilities:
Understand theCompany Health & Safety and Environmental (SHE) Policiesand Processes and statutory requirements as they affect thecompanys operations and ensure the requirements areimplemented.
Work with the Senior SHE Managerand SHE Manager to develop manage implement and monitor theEnvironmental Management Plan.
The plan mustalso take account of the environmental key performance indicatorsset
Provide operational and functionalmanagement advice on the practical implementation of the companysEnvironmental policies and processes including externalstakeholders such as customers if necessary.
Develop Environmental Management plans and coordination of reviewto drive continual improvement.
Assist in theidentification of required environmental consents permits andexemptions such as discharge consents abstraction licenses andenvironmental permits. A schedule must be maintained for allconsents permits and exemptions.
Ensureassurance processes are in place to monitor compliance with thesepermits and that appropriate monitoring is undertaken andrecorded.
Coordinate within the Contract team toensure actions are undertaken to meet the requirements of theResource Efficiency Matrix and Climate Change Action Plan whereapplicable.
Influence the design (whereapplicable) and construction teams to innovate and use bestpractice to minimise carbon emissions.
Provideoperational and functional management with advice on the preventionof environmental incidents environmental protection and pollutionprevention.
Lead on the collation data forenvironmental KPIs including any client specific measures and putin place plans to meet objectives and targets.
Ensure biodiversity impacts are measured and the Contract team areaiming to achieve a netgain in biodiversity by working with theClient Designers and Contract teams.
Establishmanage and maintain relationships with external stakeholders suchas local authorities EA Natural England etc.
Assist with and undertake SHE Advisory Visits Inspections andAudits where required of operational sites.
Participate as requested in Company Group SHEaudits.
Provide guidance on the preparation ofenvironmental studies and assessments and work Risk Assessments andMethod Statements.
Undertake and/or assist withthe monitoring analysis of and reporting of SHE performance.Utilise data to highlight areas of further consideration evaluationand intervention.
Assist and/or manage theinvestigation of environmental incidents and environmental nearmisses.
Prepare and facilitate the communicationof SHE training/ briefings. This will allow upskilling of the CMOOperational Team and the Local Delivery Partnerworkforce.
Promote best practice capture bestpractice and ensure it is fedback into thebusiness.
Maintain own level of knowledge andcompetency in relations to Environmental. Management andresponsibilities including appropriate qualifications andprofessional membership.
Experience ofdelivering presentations training etc.
Theability to thrive in pressure situations.
Theability to empathise communicate and influence stakeholders and theContract Team.
Excellent organizationalcommunication and time management skills.
Apassion of environment improvement and Sustainableoutcomes.
Be able to work on owninitiative.
Essential:
Degree or equivalent (NVQ level 5)
PIEMA orequivalent
A significant level of environmentalmanagement experience and managing this function on majorprojects.
Driving Licence
Flexible and dynamic to adapt to the Contract and Clientneeds
Desirable:
Environmental Masters or equivalent
Charteredenvironmentalist (CEnv/ MIEMA orequivalent)
