The Role
As SHE Manager, you will provide leadership, advice, and support to the Energy business regarding safety, health, environment, sustainability, and competence assurance to maintain and enhance high standards within the Business Unit.
Must Have
* Experience in a heavily regulated sector such as energy transmission
* Experience in infrastructure/heavy civil engineering projects
* Proactive problem-solving approach
* Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis
* Leadership and team management skills
* Willingness to challenge when necessary
* Enthusiasm for adopting best practices and shared learning
* Willingness to travel within England and Wales
* Experience interfacing with clients, supply chain, and stakeholders
Responsibilities
* Support the SMT with business strategy
* Embed our Protecting People Commitment
* Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental legislation and standards
* Lead and support management and employees on SHEQ matters
* Follow Morgan Sindall SHE & Sustainability policies
* Coordinate the SHEQ team and report on SHEQ matters
* Support PQQs and tenders with resources
* Mentor less experienced SHEQ team members
* Investigate incidents to identify root causes and learning opportunities
* Participate in infrastructure improvement groups
Competence/Training
* NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 5 (working towards)
* General NEBOSH Certificate
* Construction NEBOSH Certificate (desirable)
* Appropriate CSCS card
* First Aid Basic Certificate
* NEBOSH Fire Prevention and Risk Management (desirable)
* Environmental Management Systems Qualification (desirable)
* Knowledge of current legislation in construction or civil engineering
* Management strategies and best practices
* Management qualification (desirable)
* Graduate IOSH or CMIOSH status (desirable)
