The marketing team are responsible for generating modern, fresh and culturally relevant omni channel marketing ideas. Bringing campaigns to life from conception to reality. Whether it be large scale global campaigns, the biggest celebrity collaborations or new store activations, the departments main priority is to create ideas through messaging, imagery and motion. We live and breathe our brand and commercial objectives by enticing, exciting and engaging our target consumer. We work on creative concepts for iconic calendar events such as Christmas, Summer, Back to School and beyond.

What You'll Be Doing:
* Identify key campaigns, product stories and cultural moments, to deliver compelling PR storytelling that will help generate media coverage across the UK & EU.
* Oversee PR campaigns end-to-end with the support of the PR Manager.
* Build relationships with journalists at key publications to allow JD comms to cut-through the PR noise.
* Researching and writing press releases aimed at targeted media.
* Promoting news stories and features to the media, or 'selling in'
* Monitoring media, social media and blogs for opportunities for JD.
* Respond to incoming media enquiries.
* Liaise with and manage external agencies across the UK & EU to bring stories successfully to life.
* Work alongside our third-party brand team and brands ( Nike, Adidas, Puma, Under Armour, The North Face and more) to identify key campaigns, seasonal launches as well as key styles, collaboration, and brand moments and convey those stories to media.
* Identify exciting new PR opportunities ( new media partners or innovative PR activations) that broaden the perception of JD and help us expand our reach and awareness.
* Event management, including press conferences and PR events.
* Collating and evaluating media coverage.
* Collate regular reports to showcase the work of the PR department and external agencies.
* When required, collaborate with the internal corporate communications team.
* Develop strong collaborative working relationships with marketing and multi-channel peers.
* An understanding of campaign budgets, delivering PR activity to budget and ensuring best value for JD.
* Manage PR crisis with the support of the PR Manager.
What We're Looking For:
* Minimum of 3 years industry experience as a PR Account Executive or similar PR role.
* Strong press contacts and impressive examples of previous coverage secured.
* An exceptional knowledge of the UK media landscape with the willingness to learn the EU media landscape.
* Creative mindset and a collaborative team player.
* Fluent English (written & spoken).
* Excellent interpersonal skills, plus good presentation skills.
* Ability to use initiative.
* Experience working with local EU market teams is an advantage.
* Awareness of retail business as well as interest in sneaker culture, sports, music, fashion & youth culture is an advantage.
