Functional Tester (Rail Signalling) – UK-wide (site-based, flexible working options available). Full-time | Permanent. Competitive Salary + Excellent Benefits Package.
Our client is looking for a skilled and experienced Functional Tester to join their growing Signalling Testing & Commissioning team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering some of the UK's most high-profile rail infrastructure projects - in a collaborative, inclusive, and forward-thinking environment.
Responsibilities
* Carry out functional testing of signalling systems, including CBI and relay-based interlockings.
* Test 4-foot trackside equipment to ensure compliance and performance.
* Support the Tester in Charge with planning, resource management, and reporting.
* Guide and mentor junior team members to support their technical progression.
* Ensure all testing activities meet industry and safety standards.
* Travel to project sites as required - some overnight stays and unsocial hours may be necessary.
Qualifications
* IRSE Licence (Functional Tester 1.3.170) - current or held within the last 5 years
* Network Rail Certificate of Competence (CofC) - current or held within the last 5 years
* 3BI Competence - essential
* Demonstrable experience in railway signalling functional testing, including interlocking systems
* Solid knowledge of Network Rail Signal Works Testing Handbook and NWR standards
* NWR 3B/4 testing competency and/or equipment-specific expertise
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Willing to undertake COSS duties and contribute to staff development
