Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Senior Commissioning Officer to work full-time based in Haringey. The salary for this permanent Senior Commissioning Officer job is up to £46,857 per annum.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading on the commissioning and procurement of service provision through the development, writing, and implementation of business cases, contract development, service specifications, and tendering, ensuring robust and consistent contract management is in place.
* Writing, drafting, and updating Service Specifications, Contracts, and Individual Placement Agreements, ensuring they are correctly stored and filed within the Council’s data systems.
* Contributing to all stages in the commissioning framework, including needs analysis, research, innovation, strategic planning, development of service specifications, co-production, procurement of services, monitoring, feedback, and evaluation, service/market development.
* Ensuring the management of processes for the timely procurement and re-procurement of relevant contracts in liaison with operational, procurement, and legal services.
* Producing detailed and articulate commissioning reports that enable senior managers to make strategic decisions and manage resources effectively.
* Providing the management and being accountable for the day-to-day management and operations of the Commissioning Officers, including ensuring high-quality supervision, workload management, attendance with Council Policy, and guidance.
* Developing schedules of work and business cases for each commissioned service, including risk management, contract management, and review processes.
* Analysing detailed data from a wide range of sources, including research and best practice, to identify gaps in existing services and make recommendations to drive change and improve performance across all commissioned services.
* Reviewing and making recommendations for service improvement, as appropriate, and following through and overseeing the implementation of changes and benefits.
* Managing the inter-dependencies between commissioning and departmental strategies and business plans by maintaining close and effective relationships with providers and colleagues.
* Working with internal and external providers to develop and maintain specific contractual arrangements, contract compliance monitoring processes, and robust safeguarding procedures.
* Ensuring that policy and practice arrangements are in place within the team to meet the Council’s sufficiency and statutory duties.
* Undertaking any other responsibilities or additional duties aligned with the overall purpose and grade of the role, as may be required.
Requirements of this role:
* Social work qualification with registration with Social Work England.
* Experience in managing social work caseloads and supervising others.
* Experience of community and/or group work.
* Knowledge of children’s health and social care systems, agencies, and relevant legislation.
