Kitchen Porter – Ascot – Part Time, Permanent
Salary: 12.21
Hours: 28 per week
Location: Ascot (free on-site parking)
An independent day and boarding preparatory school for boys aged 6–13 in Ascot. Catering for approximately 300 students and teachers daily. We offer a core feeding of Breakfast, AM snack, Lunch, PM snack and supper along with match teas. This is a term time only contract and operates Monday to Sunday so working pattern is 5 over 7 days.
Working hours: Monday-Friday 16:00-20:00 & Saturday 08:00-16:00
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchen Porter to join our established & friendly team at our prestigious location in Ascot.
You'll be playing a big part in keeping the kitchen hygienic, safe, and up to our very high standards of cleanliness.
Responsibilities
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen at all times
* Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment
* Operate the industrial dishwasher
* Clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment using provided instructions and cleaning materials
* Assist Chefs with some food preparation as required
* Ensure compliance with hygiene and safety standards
Requirements / Skills
* Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage
* Excellent customer service skills
* Great team player
* Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep
* Ability to demonstrate a reasonable/good understanding of verbal English
* Good written English and reading skills
* Kitchen Porter experience is preferred, but not essential
* Can-do attitude and good organisation skills
Knowledge / Competencies
* Ability to demonstrate reasonable/good understanding and use of verbal English
* Ability to demonstrate reasonable/good standard of written English and reading skills
* Similar experience in a customer and/or food preparation environment is preferred
