Working hours: 12 hours per week Interview Date: To be confirmed The Salvation Army at Atherton is looking for a Caretaker who will be responsible for the care, maintenance and cleaning our busy church building. Key Responsibilities Care and maintenance of the inside and outside of the building. Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, lighting, heating and ventilation to the required standard. To unlock and lock the building when required and act as key holder when required. Move Chairs/tables/equipment as required to fulfil cleaning requirements. Maintain records to ensure health and safety compliance. Small maintenance and admin jobs, liaising with contractors as necessary. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate Awareness of health and safety regulations. Experience of cleaning in a professional environment with knowledge of the proper use of cleaning equipment. Basic standard of literacy, numeracy and IT skills (e.g email and on-line ordering) Practical skills for operating a building including the ability to meet the physical demands of the role and basic maintenance skills. Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision, including lone working as required. Good communication skills with an ability to engage with different groups of people.
