Overview
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the role of Mobile Electrician (Plant) will be responsible for undertaking plant maintenance, repairs and improvements to ensure maximum reliability of all plant associated areas and to assist team members in all aspects of plant operation.
Responsibilities
* Respond to plant breakdowns, perform correct and efficient repairs to minimise downtime, maintain adherence to the maintenance plan, and comply with all relevant statutory legislation and internal Safety, Health and Environmental standards.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of plant performance while maintaining safety, maintenance and asset reliability.
* Utilise documents and maintain policies, procedures and guidelines for the safe and efficient maintenance of equipment within the Electrical Engineering department.
* Attend service and reactive breakdowns to fault-find, diagnose and repair in a timely and cost-effective manner.
* Carry out day-to-day responsive maintenance, service and repairs as instructed.
* Make immediate decisions regarding repair requirements if the original job order does not reflect actual works and inform the relevant manager.
* Ensure all works and repairs are completed safely and in accordance with current codes and practices.
* When purchasing materials, seek a best value and cost-effective approach.
Qualifications and Experience
* 18th Edition for Electrical Installations (BS 7671).
* Experience of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Continuous Improvement.
* Working knowledge of electrical and control engineering maintenance principles and practices.
* Experience with Industrial Low Voltage power distribution systems.
* Good working understanding of PLCs and tools/techniques for interrogation of software.
* Knowledge and understanding of operating AC drives and motors.
* Knowledge of Planned Predictive Maintenance (PPM).
* Experience operating a computerised Maintenance Management System.
* Experience with Root Cause Analysis, Failure Mode & Effect Analysis tools/techniques.
* Ability to design simple electrical systems and draw schematic diagrams for practical use.
* Ability to perform electrical statutory tests and inspections and understand safe use of electrical test and measuring instruments.
* Understanding of mechanical systems including hydraulics and pneumatics; familiarity with national and international codes and symbols used on drawings and specifications.
* Able to build and retain strong client and staff relationships; maintain high standards and follow quality control processes.
* Proactive and flexible approach to work.
* Testing and Inspection qualification (preferred).
* Level 3 Apprentice trained Electrician and ONC/NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (preferred).
Additional Information
This is a mobile role supporting several sites including Scunthorpe and Hull. A company van is provided and suitable candidates will possess a full UK driving licence and be willing to work at various sites in the area.
