Lecturer in Law (Clinical Legal Education)
The Lecturer in Law (Clinical Legal Education) will contribute to the development and delivery of Clinical Legal Education activities in the Law School, focusing on the Law Clinic and other student-client facing activities. The successful candidate will also engage with the Solent Moot Court to develop practical legal skills, student employability interventions, and pro-bono activities in collaboration with professional and alumni networks.

The Law School offers successful clinical legal education opportunities, including a Law Clinic providing Family Law and Housing Law services to the local community. We seek a candidate with significant legal practice experience and/or experience running a law clinic or equivalent clinical legal education, capable of expanding current opportunities and developing new ones.
We are seeking a Lecturer (0.6 FTE) to support CLE activities, including competitions in the Moot Court room, and to engage with our extensive network of industry experts and alumni. The candidate should be flexible to teach across undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive education levels, with specialisms in Landlord and Tenant, Intellectual Property, Private Client and Professional Practice, Regulation, Compliance, and AI.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor or barrister with broad Higher Education or legal practice experience. They will contribute to curriculum innovation, designing engaging learning environments that combine theory and real-world application. Responsibilities include developing course content, module leadership, research-informed teaching, supervision, assessment design, and pastoral support.
Salary will depend on qualifications and experience.
Start date: Spring/Summer 2025. Interview date: to be confirmed.
Candidates shortlisted for interview will be asked to deliver a 10-minute micro-teaching session on: "What does successful Clinical Legal Education look like, and what strategies would you employ to ensure students access authentic learning opportunities".
