Morson Edge are delighted to present an opportunity for an experienced Marine Operations Delivery Lead to join our client's established work team on a major construction infrastructure Project in Somerset. This is a site based, (renewable) contract position - inside IR35.

Job Purpose / Overview
The Marine Operations Delivery Lead reports directly to the Senior Marine Delivery Lead and is responsible for the planning and co-ordination of Marine Abnormal Indivisible Loads (AILs) logistics activities across multiple marine facilities which include S-Shed at Bristol Port in Avonmouth and the Combwich Wharf facility.
Responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of marine operations in a singular but substantial support service in accordance with all safety, quality time and cost parameters to meet the needs of the HPC construction project.
The Marine Operations Delivery Lead will provide technical input and advice for their scope of work - and may be involved in all stages of the procurement, planning, implementation and operation of their key contract area.
The Marine Operations Delivery Lead will be responsible for developing, reviewing and amending policies and procedures that underpin strategy within their work area, and may also be called upon to help prepare detailed specifications, in support of the procurement process.

Framework & Boundaries
Logistics is a stand-alone multi-disciplinary team [MDT], that brings together logistics and business support functions that, due to the scope and complexity of the services it provides, must fully integrate with all contractors and all other site-based MDTs and all Associated Developments (ADs). It must remain cognisant of the drive to engage with the local supply chain and remain aligned with Pre-Construction Planning strategy and philosophy.

The Delivery Lead will:
Provide technical support for the receipt, transportation, storage and load out of marine Abnormal Indivisible Loads.
Be accountable for ensuring all statutory, regulatory and site controls are complied with.
Provide client interface to service partners for the care and maintenance of project cargo with a value in excess of £1Bn.
Form effective relationships with their service contract partner and champion the HPC project values of clarity, respect, positivity, humility and integrity.
Ensure the contract partners team are fully competent to perform their assigned roles - and that any shortfalls are reported to the Senior Marine Delivery Lead without delay.
Develop and implement marine shared services plans to ensure service delivery meets or exceeds the expectations and project work schedule.
Ensure early intervention to avoid any escalation of issues affecting service delivery by working in the spirit of a 'one team approach'.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential
Degree standard education in related subject.
Specialist technical experience in marine port operations with a strong logistics background.
Specialist technical experience in a port operation for delivery of waterborne Abnormal Indivisible Loads.
Specialist technical experience in heavy haulage transport and Freight Forwarding.
Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team on a large-scale construction project.
Experience of working with and developing budgets.
Experience of working in a high security environment.
Must be confident in own abilities and be able to deliver in a dynamic environment.
Willingness to learn from both successes and failures.
Proven experience within a large project environment.
Excellent communication skills and able to strike up effective working relationships.
Must be willing to work with local supply chain partners in a cooperative way.

Desirable
Recognised and certificated 'Behavioural Safety Programme'.
Recent IOSH accreditation (or equivalent).
Project management qualification (PRINCE2 or APM).
Experience of working to Construction Design & Management (CDM) Regulations.
Experience of operating within a highly regulated
