Imagine being part of an organisation whose common purpose is to help those who are severely impacted by mental illness. As a Counsellor you will work as part of an integrated mental health team within the prison, providing brief counselling for depressive symptoms secondary to a compact life event e.g. bereavement or adjustment in line with Step 2 IAPT guidelines. This is delivered over a brief model (6-8 session) in either 1:1 or group settings. I support with wider mental health activities, such as service promotion, peer mentors, mental health initiatives and service improvement activities. Role specific supervision will be provided in line with BACP guidelines.

One way we are doing is through our valued staff networks which play a critical and highly valued role in keeping us focused on creating a diverse, inclusive and engaged employer. We recognise and support staff networks and support groups for our ethnically diverse and LGBTQIA+ colleagues. We are also proud to have been awarded Disability Confident Employer statusand are a signatory to the Business in the Community Race at Work Charter.
