Led by our Design Director (previously leading UX teams at IDEO & Samsung), the team are laser focused on building the world’s #1 rail platform benefiting our communities and our world by reducing congestion and our collective carbon footprint - we believe our work has a genuine impact and will change travel for the better.
As a Senior UX Designer at Trainline you will...
* Join a team focused on delivering a best-in-class Search, Compare and Buy UX across the UK & Europe, enhancing the product by integrating thoughtful, tech-enabled solutions that support customers throughout their booking experience.
* Leverage emerging technologies, including AI, machine learning, and large language models, to anticipate customer needs and create more intuitive, personalised searching experiences, which are driven by data and meeting diverse customer needs across multiple markets.
* Work closely with Product, Research, Data, and Engineering in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You’ll contribute from early, ambiguous discovery phases all the way to crafting and delivering pixel perfect, high-impact features.
* Collaborate with fellow designers to shape a seamless, end-to-end search experience that aligns with Trainline's overarching vision and strategy.
You'll be supported but critically empowered to operate independently, executing against the end-to-end design process to deliver innovative and visually polished tactical solutions, as well as contribute to Trainline’s Search Experience strategy.
We ship new products at speed and employ a ‘build/test/learn’ mentality around our product development. To this end, success lies in your customer-centric mindset, your ability to question thinking and develop our relationships with carriers.
This is an outstanding opportunity to come in and shape a significant part of the search experience as well as boost your design career, working within one of the most mature and established UX Teams in Travel.
You should understand the power and importance of quantitative data to assess the impact of design, and draw insights to iterate and optimise experience, playing back your explorations with clear narratives, woven together with data and research.
You should be passionate about product design and looking for an opportunity to disrupt and define a product that is changing the way we travel and inspiring millions of people across the UK and Europe to make more environmentally sustainable travel choices every day.
We’re looking for creative big thinkers with small egos to achieve our committed plans. You’ll have numerous years experience designing as part of a fast-paced tech organisation and hopefully be eager to continue to grow your Design career here with us. If this sounds like you, then do apply.
We'd love to hear from you if you have...
* Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, adept at conveying concepts to stakeholders and wider team.
* Expertise in both UX thinking as well as UI visuals.
* Experience being accountable for the experience across a significant product space independently, ensuring we’re focussed on solving real user needs.
* Proficiency in using data and customer insights to validate ideas and drive positive customer behaviour.
* Experience in data-informed experimentation such as A/B or multivariate testing.
* Hands-on, action-oriented approach to solving creative challenges, inspiring creativity and design excellence within the team.
* A self-starter mentality with strong collaboration skills with Engineers, Product Managers, and broader business teams.
* Proficiency in Figma for day-to-day design work, previous experience with using AI, machine learning, and large language models within design solutions, is a plus.
