The Role
Up to £33,366 depending on experience + 7% shift enhancement
An opportunity has arisen to join a dedicated team within children's services supporting children with additional needs.
The team provides essential care to children and young people aged 8 to 18 years with complex needs, ensuring they feel safe and secure.
We operate two purpose-built bungalows, Avondale and Trackside, offering short break care to disabled young people. You will work within these residential services, providing high-quality care to young people requiring support with personal, physical, and medical needs, including activities both in and out of the home.
Candidates must be flexible, willing to work weekends, bank holidays, and evenings, and be committed to supporting children with autism, learning difficulties, and disabilities.
We seek enthusiastic, energetic, and creative individuals committed to supporting young disabled people to stay safe, healthy, and engaged, and to participate in decisions affecting their lives. Previous experience working with young people and understanding of disability impacts are essential.
About You
The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills, a proactive attitude, and a commitment to improving outcomes for young people.
You will work collaboratively with young people, their families, and multi-agency teams to support their development and achievement.
Experience working with children with disabilities and their families is essential. You must have or be willing to obtain a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent within two years.
